People hire coaches for many different reasons. Sometimes a coach helps to bridge a gap. Others are looking for more out of their personal or business life. The first thing we do is discuss what changes you would like to make and come up with a game plan. We explore your strengths and abilities and design a way for you to have the life you want. I’ll ask for your best effort. With each goal you attain, we’ll celebrate together!
We also look at values. Is your life in tune with your values? We discuss what you value most. It could be family, friends, community, or spirituality. Often when we look at how your days are spent, it may not be aligned with the things you value most. As your coach, I’ll work with you to help you say “no” to things that are not adding joy to your life. Just the awareness of what is truly important to you can precipitate a shift in how you live your life.
The Value of Coaching
Professional coaches are sought by people from all walks of life for a variety of reasons. Your motivation and desire to hire a coach may include one or more of the following:
- Maintain focus and motivation
- Jump start your career or take it to the next level
- Create an action plan for change
- Improve your leadership skills
- Brainstorm ideas
- Increase your self-confidence and self-esteem
- Get in touch with your deepest values and incorporate them into your daily life
Coaching really works!
By brainstorming with an objective person who is not in your business or your family, you get objective feedback and support. The commitment to making changes can be very powerful. We often need accountability to drive us to action. Committing your next action step to your coach inspires you to move forward. There is no penalty if you don’t succeed with your weekly commitment, but there is a great feeling of support and satisfaction when you do. For many, the accountability really makes the difference.
“Phyllis brings contagious enthusiasm and caring support to each and every session. During my tenure as COO of a multi-state insurance agency, she offered advice that helped me gain balance between my professional and personal lives. Phyllis was also extremely helpful when I began transitioning away from my professional life and started to use my talents to work with non-profit organizations.”
